  • preserving the Eloise Cemetery, is very important to alot of family members that is living, that knows family members that were in Eloise . That want to know if there family members are in there. They have a right to know.

  • You would expect that the State of Michigan, after all of the mistreatment and loss of records saying who is buried where, would at least give theses people some honor above and beyond fencing off this area and posting "No Trespassing" signs: perhaps a memorial plaque or even removing the brush that obscures the headstones. Other than local lore and being listed on Google maps, this place as well as the lives of the people buried here would be lost to history. I guess the adage "as in life so in death" applies here. As you walk over these forgotten ones, remember that death is the great equalizer and that end which we all share: Requiescant in pace.
